Control the CD-ROM Autorun Function
Normally when you insert a disc into your CD-ROM drive, the contents are automatically launched. This tweak allows you to disable this behavior.
Open your registry and find the key below.
Change to value of 'Autorun', or create a new DWORD value if it doesn't already exist, and set the data to equal '0' for Autorun disabled.
Settings:
System Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\CDRom]
Name: Autorun
Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
Value: (0=disable, 1=enable)
Note:
This method disables automatically running CD-ROMs. If you want to disable automatically running CD-ROMs depending on the CD-ROM that you insert in the CD-ROM drive, you can press and hold down one of the SHIFT key while you insert the CD-ROM.
